Peat and Son Nursery has been growing and selling Cape American Beach Grass (Ammophila breviligulata) for the past 25 years. This grass is native from New England to North Carolina and is a very vigorous grower that helps to stabilize the dunes. In the past, we were only able to pull and sell beach grass when it was dormant. The time frame depended on the weather, but it was typically from March - early May and then again November - December. We are very excited to now be able to sell beach grass as 2" plugs, which extends our sales throughout the year. The Beach Grass plugs are well established when they are planted and this allows our customers to have excellent success with this plant year round.
